Installing and connecting Egentify to your Shopify store takes under 5 minutes and requires no coding. Once connected, your AI support agent is live on your storefront and ready to handle customer questions about orders, products, returns, and more.

Install the app

Find Egentify in the Shopify App Store

Search for Egentify in the Shopify App Store and click Install.

Review the requested permissions

Shopify displays the permissions Egentify requires before you confirm. The app needs read access to your products, orders, customers, and store content, plus write access to orders so your AI agent can process refunds and update shipping addresses on your behalf.

Confirm installation

Click Install app to confirm. Shopify installs the app and redirects you to the Egentify setup screen inside your Shopify admin.

Connect your project

Initiate the connection

On the Egentify app screen inside your Shopify admin, click Connect to Egentify.

Sign in to Egentify

Sign in to your existing Egentify account or create a new one — it’s free to get started.

Your store is linked automatically

Egentify creates a new project and links it to your store. You’ll land on your project dashboard where you can configure your AI agent.

Enable the chat widget

Open your theme customizer

In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes and click Customize on your active theme.

Open App Embeds

Click App Embeds in the left sidebar of the theme editor.

Toggle on the chat widget

Find Chat widget in the list and toggle it on.

Adjust position and offset (optional)

Expand the embed settings to fine-tune the widget’s position and offset values to fit your storefront’s layout.

Save your changes

Click Save in the top-right corner. The widget is now live on your storefront.

Permissions the app uses

Egentify requests only the permissions it needs to answer customer questions and take permitted actions on your behalf.

Disconnecting

To remove Egentify from your store, go to Shopify Admin > Settings > Apps, find Egentify, and click Uninstall. Uninstalling cancels your subscription, removes the chat widget from your storefront, and revokes Egentify’s access to your store data.
After connecting, configure your AI agent’s name, refund policy, and escalation behavior in Settings inside the Egentify app in your Shopify admin.
